Take a cue from Kirti Kulhari’s recent vacation and make sure to visit these picturesque destinations when in Jordan

Amid a global decline in Covid-19 cases, countries are welcoming back international tourists, marking the end of a two-year hiatus. Joining the ranks of eager travelers, 36-year-old actor Kirti Kulhari embarked on a journey to Jordan with her friends, documenting her experiences on social media.

Kirti explored various captivating destinations in Jordan, starting with its largest and capital city, Amman. Despite the chilly weather (6-7 degrees Celsius) and strong winds, she shared glimpses of the city’s unique charm. Amman, often overlooked in the Middle East, stands out with its harmonious blend of westernized development and Middle Eastern allure. The city boasts Roman ruins, museums, mosques, the Citadel, souqs, and cozy coffee houses.

Her journey began with a visit to the Amman Citadel, where she marveled at the preservation and presentation of Jordan’s heritage. Perched on a hill, the Citadel features a 1700-meter wall dating back to the Bronze Age, the iconic Temples of Hercules, and the Umayyad Palace. Situated 850 meters above sea level on Jebel Al Qala’a, this archaeological site is a must-visit for history enthusiasts.

Kirti also explored the King Abdullah I Mosque, known for its magnificent blue mosaic dome and its significance as a memorial built by the late King Hussein to his grandfather. The Roman Theatre in Amman, a second-century structure with a seating capacity of 6000, captured her attention, despite its full restoration in 1957 using none of the original materials.

Her journey concluded in Aqaba, a Jordanian port city on the Red Sea’s Gulf of Aqaba. Aqaba is renowned for its beach resorts, offering popular activities such as windsurfing, scuba diving, and various water sports. Kirti expressed admiration for Aqaba’s vibrant atmosphere, describing it as a place filled with quotes, restaurants, bars, and the charming Ayla.
